This policy explains what information BotifyHost ("we", "us") collects when you use our website and our Android app, how we use it, and the choices you have. BotifyHost is a bot hosting service: you upload or build a bot, and we run it on our servers.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account ID from Google.
- Your bots: bot names, bot tokens you provide, the files you upload or create, and the logs your bots produce. We need these to host and run your bots.
- Usage and technical data: IP address, browser or device type, pages visited, and error logs. We use these to keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- App only: a push-notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you alerts such as "runtime is running low".
2. How we use information
- To create and secure your account and to host, start, stop and back up your bots.
- To send service emails (verification codes, password resets, bot backups) and app notifications.
- To detect and block abuse, malware and attacks on our platform.
- To show advertising that keeps BotifyHost free (see section 3).
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Advertising and cookies
Website: we use Google AdSense to show ads on some pages of this website.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown.
App: the Android app uses Google AdMob to show ads. Free runtime is earned only by watching rewarded ads inside the app. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID; you can reset it or opt out of ad personalisation in your Android settings.
We also use essential cookies to keep you signed in. These are needed for the website to work.
4. Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run BotifyHost, for example Google (Sign-In, AdSense, AdMob, Firebase), our email provider, and our hosting/server providers. They process data under their own privacy policies.
5. Data retention and deletion
- When you delete a bot, its files are removed from our servers. We may email you a backup first.
- When your runtime expires, your bots are deleted automatically.
- You can delete your account from the app's profile screen or by emailing us. We then delete your account data, except what we must keep for security or legal reasons.
6. Security
Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS and passwords are stored as one-way hashes. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
7. Children
BotifyHost is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
